Henry Colbert (c.1831-1905)

Henry Colbert was born in Maidstone, Kent in c.1831. He arrived in Scarborough in 1867 aged 36. He was listed as a photographer in directories from 1879-1892 with a studio at Trafalgar House in Victoria Road. He is also listed as an artist (1889) and an artic decorator (1892/1902).

Colbert was married to Annie (1837-1900) and they had four daughters born in Scarborough, two are identified as Emily (b.1867) and Lizzie (b.1870).
