Harry Bennett

Harry Bennett had a studio in St Thomas Street, Scarborough. He is recorded in 1938 having entered a photograph in the exhibition of the Association of Professional Photographers at the Royal Institute in London. The picture entitled Meditation is said to have depicted a woman gazing at a crucifix. In about 1960 Bennett produced a series of photographs recording Scarborough’s Royal Hotel for its proprietor Tom Laughton (1903-1984), who reproduced them in a booklet about the hotel.
