Enoch Barraclough (1832-1901)

Enoch Barraclough was born in Wibsey, in Yorkshire. He was in Scarborough at some point before 1867 when his daughter Hannah was born in the town. At this time he was probably based at South Cliff Cottage, Ramsdale Road. By 1872 he was listed with a studio at 1a Aberdeen Walk. Bayliss and Bayliss suggest that he wound up his photographic business in March 1872 when he advertised his household furniture and his photographic equipment for sale. This included a half plate lens by Lerebour, a square-body camera, twin stereo lenses and camera, a medallion camera with four lenses, frames, cases, views and portraits and negative views of Scarborough. He was living at Knaresborough with his family by 1881.

He was married to Susannah Seed (1840?-1921) and they had three children, Lewis (b.1862 Huddersfield), Hannah M (b.1867 Scarborough) and Ada (b.1871 Scarborough).
