Arthur Edward Cuttle (1855-1934)

Arthur Edward Cuttle was a chemist and druggist, operated a shop in Leading Post Street in Scarborough. In 1878 he married Annie Crowther, the daughter of Thomas, a pharmaceutical chemist from Tickhill just south of Doncaster. He had retired by 1895 and was elected to Scarborough Town Council and living in Castle Road. His obituary records him as an amateur photographer. He produced a postcard of St Peter’s Church a few doors down the road from his home in Castle Road, Scarborough. One postcard seen on ebay was issued by Dennis and Holloway, printers. When he died he left £4562 (net, £3727).
